If we asked how you would use the humble Chye Sim, you would probably say in a stir-fry or boiled, as is the traditional ways we have it. But did you know that we can use this nutritional powerhouse in a variety of other ways? One our favorite are to consume it raw....in a juice!
Try this tangy Chye Sim and Pineapple Juice for that refreshing, tasty and nutritious boost to your morning. Its packed with Vitamin C, which is a strong anti-oxidant, and can boost your metabolism. This recipe makes 2 servings.
Ingredients
250 gm VertiVegies HK Chye Sim
1 pineapple
6 pcs dried sour plums
1 tbsp sour plum powder
1 lemon
Recipe
Cut Chye Sim into pieces each, peel pineapple and cut into cubes and remove skin from the lemons. In a cold press juicer, juice the Chye Sim, pineapple chunks and lemon. Pour the juice into a sour plum powder rimmed glass and drop in 3 sour plums per glass. Stir well and garnish with lemon wedge and pineapple slice.
Pro Tip
Throw in a shot of coconut rum for that added boozy kick if you plan to use this recipe for that Sunday brunch cocktail you were planning on having.
